feeling blessed.
Well, step one in this journey can be checked off. Surgery went well yesterday, but took a little longer than expected. The good news- MRI and visual showed one side appeared to be completely clear.
Not so good news- exploration of the lymphnodes in the right side showed a 1cm tumor in one node and another that appeared to the naked eye, to look dirty. 10-15 lymphnodes were removed as a precautionary measure and we wait for pathology reports on all those. So even though we are disappointed with the lymphnodes thing and the crazy chemo train that puts us on, it's still soooo much more positive than it could have been
As cliche as this sounds, we truly do feel as though we are nestled in a cloud of prayer through this whole thing. Even the ride to the hospital yesterday and waiting for surgery, we were experiencing a peace and calm that can only be explained by the sheer number of people praying for those exact things. The support has been overwhelming! From the care packages and sweet encouraging notes sent to ashley in pullman as she attempts to complete finals this week while wanting to be home instead, our freezer being stocked full of meals, our kids being completely cared for and loved by 'borrowed family'smile emoticon the random lady who approached Bob in the waiting room and asked if she could pray with him, his amazing friends who showed up and sat for hours with him, making sure he didn't destroy anything while I was in surgery, the thoughtful gifts, cards, texts, it is a pretty humbling experience and I really can't explain how much of a difference it makes. It's kind of impossible to sit and have any sort of pity party when you have such great family and friends 100% behind you:)
