It was so nice to be able to see all my siblings that Thanksgiving!
News like this tends to spread quickly and word started to travel. However, it became a little stressful not knowing who knew and who didn't, having some people think it must be a big secret so they didn't dare to mention it, having other people be upset because they didn't know and just found out from somebody else, so finally we decided the best way to deal with it would be to just rely on facebook and put it all out there. I agonized over this post for a long time before I finally just quickly hit 'submit' and then shut my phone off and went to bed. For some reason, I found it really difficult to just put it out there. I didn't want people to think it was some big secret but at the same time I didn't want people to think I was looking for sympathy and attention either!

Well, turns out this holiday season is not going to go quite as we had planned. But then again, life seldom does:) A plan of attack has been laid out, and on the 14th we will launch a full scale assault against breast cancer. Out of all the weapons in our arsenal we know that prayer is the strongest one and we are so glad to have an unlimited supply of those! Kicking cancers butt was not really on my bucket list of things to do before hitting 40 but now that it's here that's exactly what we'll do! You never think it'll happen to you and when it does its pretty surreal. We are very grateful for the incredible support of our family and great friends that will help us through this unexpected journey. I'm afraid that, despite my great intentions, once again my Christmas cards will not make it out but please know we are wishing the most wonderful of Christmas's to all of you! Take time to remember what's really important this Holiday season and don't sweat the small stuff! oh ya...and ladies....get your mammograms!!:)
