One good thing about this whole cancer mess...there won't be one inch of my body that hasn't been poked prodded scanned and photographed! Actually I guess that's not necessarily a good thing:) Physical Therapy is needed to regain mobility of my arms after the mastectomy..the left arm is doing great. The right side where the lymph nodes were removed is a bit of a different story. It just doesn't want to move the same way it used to and when I try to extend it even just straight out it pulls sharply all the way down in my forearm. I have a great therapist...a graduate from good ole Prosser High School:)..who does a great job of explaining all the hows and whys to me in a way that makes sense. So for now we just keep doing the homework and keep working on it to get that mobility back. On top of the PT we get to have liver and kidney function tests, lovely PAP smear, ultrasound of the ovaries, a MUGGA test (heart function) a PET CT scan...and whatever else they manage to think of.
Ashley was home for 3 weeks so she played chauffeur and drove me to some of my appointments. I have always hated having my picture taken but I seem to have lost all sense of pride and modesty in the last month and now I'm just like....snap away! What you see if what you get and it's going to get a whole lot worse before it gets better:)
Then I got to hop into this lovely little tube and take a nap while they tested the function level of my heart. It is my understanding that they will do more of these periodically throughout chemo to make sure that the chemo is not damaging my heart.
